Fleetguard: a truck-stop activation with a personal keepsake

Project location: Mt. Juliet, Tennessee · Project context: 2026 · Prepared by POPUP from the project archive in October 2026.

Fleetguard brought Build-A-Bobble to a Mt. Juliet truck stop. Drivers could make a personalized keepsake in a setting already connected to their day, giving the brand encounter a practical local context.

How can a brand meet a working audience where they already are?

Bring Fleetguard's filter line into a place that is part of truckers' everyday journeys.

POPUP created a truck-stop activation centered on Build-A-Bobble, inviting drivers to make a personalized keepsake and spend time with the brand.

Make the stop the starting point

A truck stop gives this activation a specific context. Fleetguard met drivers where they were already stopping, rather than asking them to attend a separate brand event. Build-A-Bobble put the invitation into an activity: make a keepsake with a personal connection. The project record and initial on-site photographs document participation at the Fleetguard station.

Plan around the driver’s visit

For teams considering a similar roadside activation, the first design question is how the activity fits the visit. Can a person understand the offer from the approach? Is there somewhere to complete it comfortably? What does the team need to explain before a guest begins? Those questions should guide the footprint and the handoff between host and visitor.

Give personalization a clear purpose

Personalization works here as the reason to take part. A keepsake can connect the encounter with the person making it, so the brand does not need to rely on a long presentation. In planning another version, define which choices are available, how staff explain them and where the completed object is handed over. These are planning considerations, separate from the documented Fleetguard delivery.

The planning lesson

Choose participation that fits the audience's available attention. A roadside stop needs an invitation people can understand quickly and an activity they can complete comfortably. Personalization gives the encounter its own meaning when the process is straightforward.
