Future’s Nobody Safe: carrying tour identity from street to store

The Nobody Safe Los Angeles pop-up and McLaren display · 2017.

Future Melrose, Los Angeles

Turn the tour into a place.

Future’s Nobody Safe tour became a Los Angeles retail destination, with caution-stripe graphics, a McLaren display and a collection-led interior. The Pop Up Team’s earlier work through Fancy.com, before POPUP.

The opportunity

The brief.

Extend a touring artist’s identity beyond the performance into a physical destination, with a strong arrival moment and enough detail to reward a closer look.

POPUP’s role

The work behind the experience.

Members of POPUP’s team worked on this Fancy.com artist-retail experience before POPUP. The case demonstrates the connection between temporary retail, merchandise and a branded arrival setting.

Make the arrival part of the experience.

McLaren vehicles sat outside the striped storefront. The same yellow-and-black visual language connected the cars, entrance and event identity, giving the shop a presence before visitors stepped inside.

Carry the tour into the collection.

Tour apparel and accessories filled the interior, with yellow display furniture and illuminated shelving linking the merchandise to the exterior identity. The store offered a closer encounter with the artist’s world.

What it made possible

What the experience brought to life.

A tour identity extended onto the street.

Merchandise, a bold storefront and a vehicle display gave Future’s Nobody Safe campaign a distinct Los Angeles presence.
