Brooklyn Industries: connecting a brand refresh with a flagship

Project location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn · Project context: 2025 · Prepared by POPUP from the project archive in October 2026.

Brooklyn Industries' next chapter took shape in both its graphic identity and its Williamsburg flagship. Retail by PopUp connected the renewed direction with fixtures, materials and visual merchandising.

How can a store make a renewed brand identity visible?

A brand with local roots needs renewal that customers can recognize and experience. The opportunity was to connect a modern identity with a complete retail environment, so the change appeared in the brand, the merchandising and the visit.

Treat identity and retail as one program. A renewed graphic system establishes the direction; materials, fixtures, layout and merchandising translate it into a flagship in the brand’s home borough.

Give the next chapter a clear identity

The identity system brings the wordmark, typography and graphic language into a consistent direction. References to Brooklyn and the brand’s creative roots provide continuity while giving the renewed business a fresh expression.

Make the flagship express the change

The Williamsburg store translates the identity into a physical setting. Large street-facing windows, an open arrival and visible product displays introduce the collection before the customer moves further into the store.

Build the experience around the collection

Pallet tables, freestanding rails and full-height product walls give apparel and accessories distinct places within a coherent layout. The material language connects the renewed identity with the practical work of presenting and selling product.

Support the next chapter

Ongoing support and visual merchandising support keep the renewed identity consistent as the flagship and outlet develop.

The planning lesson

Develop identity and physical presentation together. A wordmark change becomes more tangible when customers see it reflected in the layout and assortment. Plan how visual merchandising will carry the direction into everyday store updates.
