Meek Mill x PUMA: artist retail rooted in Philadelphia

Project location: Philadelphia, PA · Project context: 2018 · Prepared by POPUP from the project archive in October 2026.

Millidelphia gave Meek Mill's PUMA capsule an address in the city that shaped his music. Motocross references and a Market Street storefront connected the collection with the wider Made in America weekend.

What makes an artist pop-up feel connected to its hometown?

A festival brings people into a city. A well-placed shop gives that audience another way to experience an artist’s world before and after the performance.

Turn a Market Street storefront into Millidelphia, where the visual language of Meek Mill’s music, his motocross influences and the PUMA capsule share one setting.

Give the moment an address

At 2005 Market Street, Millidelphia graphics, PUMA branding and campaign imagery connected the exterior to the experience inside. The temporary shop placed the capsule within the artist’s home city during the festival weekend.

Build a world around the product

Motorcycles, an ATV, helmets and styled mannequins made the merchandise display a scene in its own right. Apparel and sneakers remained close to hand, with the PUMA capsule presented through the visual language of Dreams and Nightmares.

Connect the shop to the artist

Meek Mill’s in-store appearance brought the artist, the collection and fans together, giving the retail experience a personal connection to Made in America weekend.

The planning lesson

Local relevance needs a visible expression. Use the address, display language and artist references to make the setting specific. Treat the festival as surrounding context, and define the store's own guest journey and operating plan before building around the weekend.
